Easter Scrapbooking Ideas (Scrapbooking)

SimplyScrapbooking.com
Scrapbooking. -

Easter is a great time to capture family photographs for
scrapbooking. Even if you don’t scrapbook, planning your picture
taking ahead of time ensures you won’t miss any of these great
family memories. No family traditions? Then this is a great
time to start!

Here are some Easter photograph ideas for scrapbooking:

Photograph spring flowers in bloom. Daffodils and tulips will
make a colorful contrast to your other photographs.

Have your kids help you make Easter cookies or an Easter cake.
Snap a picture of them working in the kitchen and then make sure
to take a picture of the finished product. We made a layer cake
and arranged it on a thick piece of cardboard covered with
aluminum foil. It was lemon cake with lemon filling and pink
frosting. We decorated it with store-bought Easter candy.
Around the base of the cake we arranged Easter grass and added
chocolate eggs and peeps for decoration. It made a great
picture!

Gingerbread houses aren’t just for Christmas! Make a gingerbread
house and decorate it for Easter with pastel colors and lots of
Easter candy. The possibilities are limitless.

If your family attends Easter church services, make sure to get a
picture of your girls in their Easter dresses. Dressing up is a
great excuse to take a picture.

Coloring Easter eggs never gets old, whatever the age of your
kids! They never get tired of showing you how creative they are.
Join in on the fun and then take a picture of the finished
product.

Easter egg hunts are also fun for the whole family. Take some
good action pictures and get a picture of your kids with their
Easter baskets.

Easter dinners are a great time to take family pictures. It’s a
good time to take pictures of relatives you don’t often see, and
fun to get pictures of the family laughing and enjoying a meal
together. Take pictures of any of the good food you want to
remember later.

Have fun picture taking, and have a happy Easter!

Selling Niche Items on Ebay

 by: Stephan Miller

A website is great to have for residual income, for presence, to have a place called home on the internet. I admit I love it. Instead of hunting for sites to host my pictures and software for free, I have a place and it is all mine. But nothing beats eBay for instant, in your face sales.

Its like having a mall with millions of visitors a day built just for you. I mean, you could sell used vacuum cleaner bags and walk away with a bag full of money a week later if only you knew how to list your auctions with the right title, right ad, and right type of features or even no features. For examples of what can and has been sold on eBay, check out these sites.

http://www.disturbingauctions.com

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ebayweirdnesscollectorclub

No features? Yes, you can make a consistent weekly income by listing auctions with no features. I have done it. You just have to find a niche and your customers will hunt for you. No extras will be necessary.

What type of products would qualify as a niche item? Lets say your hobby is scrapbooking and you have just written the perfect ebook on the subject. You know it will sell, but how do you go about selling it. You could put up a website, spend weeks submitting it to search engines, and then, maybe months later watch sales start coming in. That’s great for the long term. In fact its something you should do.

But, if you want to start getting sales sooner, list it on eBay. It takes some work to do it right though. You will need to figure out what search terms your customer will be using to find your auction. Then search both the current and completed auctions to find out what your competitors are doing to get their bids. Or download a tool to do it for you.

http://www.profit-ware.com/hotbid/

Okay, what if the search terms you entered comes up with few searches or none. Well, this is a sign that hell just froze over. But if it does happen, can you spell “jackpot.” You will need to find closely related search terms that actually will come up and use them along with your rare terms. Think about what other items your ideal customers will also be buying and mention them in the body of your ad. Don’t spam though. Write your ad like you are speaking face to face to your customers and you can’t go wrong.

Check out your competitors features. Did they highlight? Did they choose Bold? Did they spend the extra money and category feature the auction? I did this once on a niche product that I was selling and actually made less money than when I didn’t choose to feature the item. But you will have to test your results. Why spend extra money that you don’t have to?

Also, study the title of the auction and the ad itself. Remember that the default search on eBay is title only, so make sure you pack your title with keywords that you know people will be using. But don’t go overboard. You can always tell when a seller is trying to spam the search engine instead of providing a descriptive title provides their customers with the information they need.

The days when you could put up a text ad and sell are over. Well, maybe not. But at least put in the extra effort and design an HTML ad. It lets your customer know that you are actually running a business and that the image your products present matter to you. Turbo Lister is great if you are just starting out. You can also find more free HTML editors on the resource page of my site.

http://www.profit-ware.com

Learn some ad writing techniques. If you are selling an info product or software, the mini-site model works great. It will provide your customer with all the information he or she needs to make a buying decision. Also learn hypnotic writing and NLP. I am not saying that you have to do all of this at once. Just pick up as you go along.

Just to get started, do your marketing research and list your ad and wait for sales. Yes, it will become addictive, especially after you get that first bid. You will set your homepage to your “My Ebay” page and check it every few minutes. I did.

Your Portfolio: A New (Scrapbooking) Slant on an Old Subject

How To Make Money With Scrapbooking
Start your own scrapbooking businessf from home. -

If you’re involved in any sort of freelance, or creative work, you know the importance of a portfolio. You need an efficient way to show your best work to potential clients, customers and employers. This article discusses a new approach to creating your portfolio and new ways to portray your creative work to best advantage.

I don’t usually include folksy little anecdotes in my articles. It’s not my style. However, this is the exception. A few days ago, I was poking around in my local scrapbook store pursuing my favorite hobby. Scrapbooking, for those who don’t know, is the activity of creating “memory albums” that are a sort of marriage between a photo album, a scrapbook, and a box full of momentos.

You start with a top-loading or side- loading album with page protectors. Next, you create themed pages using photos, computer printouts, letters, cards, diplomas, brochures, or any other appropriate momento. You give your page a title, add journaling to explain what it’s all about, then add various embellishments to create the aesthetic you want. And by embellishments, I’m talking a lot more than good ol’ stickers. Today’s scrapbookers create special effects with fibre, wire, metallics, beads, eyelits, rubber stamps, mesh, glitter, buttons, ribbon, chalk, calligraphy pens and a whole lot more. It’s a creative endeavor, for sure.

Anyway, back to my story. As I was browsing the store, I noticed something unusual. A man was busy matching pictures to colored paper to create a scrapbook layout. In my community, you seldom encounter a scrapbooking male, so I was curious. I asked the man about his project. He replied that he was a furniture designer and was using a scrapbook for his portfolio. The photographs were images of the beautiful pieces he had designed. This man’s scrapbook will do double duty. First, as a portfolio, he will have an attractive and impressive album to show potential clients. Secondly, as a memory album, he will have visual and textual records of the items he has created.

Eureka! What a great idea. I had never realized scrapbooking’s potential for portfolio creation.

Any individual (or any business person) who is involved with designing or creating projects could use a scrapbook portfolio to advantage. Furniture designers, inventors, teachers, workshop presenters, construction managers, architects, web designers, software developers, poets, artists, writers, jewelry designers, fashion designers, real estate developers, musicians, chefs, desktop publishers.. If you can depict your projects in words and images, you can display them to good advantage in a scrapbook.

Understandably, people working in electronic fields often opt to use an electronic portfolio. The scrapbooked portfolio is not suggested to be a replacement, but rather an augment. How often have you tried to show a new client your electronic portfolio only to encounter disaster in the form of a hardware of software incompatibility or a fuse that blew or a VCR with a missing cable? Or, how about the times when your “one on one” meeting with the prospective client ended up with eight people crowding around your laptop to view your presentation? The scrapbooked portfolio would be a great backup solution to this scenario, I’m thinking.

A picture is worth a thousand words, as they say. I’m including a few links that will take you to scrapbooking web sites. There you will be able to view a number of sample layouts so you get an idea of what I’m talking about. I’ll warn you in advance, most of the layouts you’ll find will be depicting family events, kits, pets, vacations and so forth. You’ll have to call upon your imagination to visualize how the same techniques could be used for portfolio creation. But we already know you have plenty of imagination, don’t we? You wouldnt be needing a portfolio if you didn’t.

Wedding Anniversary (Scrapbooker) Scrapbooking Ideas

SimplyScrapbooking.com
Scrapbooking. -

Are you looking for wedding anniversary scrapbooking ideas to help you create a unique gift for a special couple for their anniversary? This article has many simple ideas that you can use to create a wonderful and lasting wedding anniversary gift.

One of the most important wedding anniversary scrapbooking ideas you can use for an anniversary scrapbook is to have the couples wedding picture on either the first or last page of the scrapbook.

A copy of the wedding invitation makes a really great introduction to the scrapbook. A scrapbook makes a creative anniversary gift for any anniversary year, but it is particularly effective for milestones such as the first anniversary, silver, diamond or golden anniversaries. For the 25th, 50th or 60th wedding anniversaries, you can start the scrapbook with the wedding photo.

Other scrapbooking ideas you can use are:

Photos of the couple during each year of their marriage

Photos of the couples family at various stages of growth

Photos of memorable occasions, such as weddings of the children

Photos of the couple with their grandchildren

Photos of trips and vacations

Wedding scrapbooking ideas, for the first year of marriage could include:

Photos of the planning done for the wedding

Copy of the wedding service

Place cards

Bridal registry

List of gifts received

Ribbons to represent colors used in the wedding

Wedding favors that was used

Notes about planning mishaps

You can also include the following in the Wedding anniversary scrapbook:

Pressed flowers

Napkins

Christmas pictures of the couple together

Letters and notes that the couple has written funny scenes from their lives together

Invitation to the anniversary party

Photos of the party

The colors you choose for embellishing the scrapbook should represent the year of the anniversary. For example, 25th anniversary is silver, 50th is gold and 60th is diamond. The colors used in other wedding anniversary scrapbooking ideas could be the colors the couple chose to have at their wedding or their own favorite colors.

Stress-Free Scrapbook Journaling Ideas

 by: Elaine Clay

Do you find it intimidating when you come to journal your scrapbook pages?

You are not alone! Many scrapbookers find it hard to get started when it comes to adding journaling to their scrapbooking layouts.

If you are one of those people who go blank at the thought of having to journal, dont worry. Here are some stress-free scrapbooking journaling ideas to help you write the right words whatever your page theme.

Make a list.

This is a fairly simple journaling technique that is suitable for use with any type of page theme, for example:

Doing a friendship page - list how you met, where you met, how long you have known each other, include what you like about your friend and why you are both pals.

Doing a recipe scrapbook page - then make a personal top 10 list of reasons why you like Grandmas chocolate cake so much.

Doing a baby layout - do a list of babys favorite foods, you can even do one for the foods they dont like!

A variation of this technique is to use bullet points to mark each line on your list, giving you an opportunity to empathise each item of your journaling:

  • Anguilla
  • April 2004
  • My first trip to the Caribbean
  • This is the view from my hotel balcony overlooking the cove I cant wait to go swimming the sea looks so nice!

Make sure you have fun experimenting with all the different kinds of embellishments that you can use as your bullet points!

Another bonus with using the list technique is that you do not need to worry about the structure of your sentences or that your journaling makes sense because the list breaks down what you want to say into its basic readable form.

Write a Letter.

This is one of those great scrapbook journaling ideas thats fairly simple to do and its also a lovely, personal way to journal your layouts too.

All you have to do is pretend youre writing to a friend telling them what is happening in your photographs and including the Dear . at the beginning of your writing will give your journaling an intimate feel.

Sent any emails lately? Like letters, emails are also a good source of journaling material that you can use for your layouts.

If you are unsure of your own journaling then doing it in a letter format could help your writing flow more easily, as you describe the people and the events taking place, letting you tell the story naturally and in your own words.

Ask a question.

If you are completely stuck and cannot think of anything to write this can be a good quick fix technique to use. Just ask some simple questions like, What was your favorite part of..? or Did anything funny or embarrassing happen?.

This technique can be very effective when used for a special occasion layout, like a bridal shower, where you can ask each of the guests to tell you about their favorite memory of the bride-to-be.

Why not take it a stage further? Give each shower guest some suitable decorative paper and let them write down their own memories rather than journal all of them yourself.

For an extra special touch, you could get the guests to bring with them their favorite photo of the bride-to-be. Ask them to journal why they picked that particular picture and then do a separate layout for each individual photo.

This is an effective way to make a wonderful and unique scrapbook that is quick, simple and full of memorable pieces of journaling that add a very personal feel to the album.

If you are one of those people who find it difficult to begin the journaling process these fun scrapbook journaling ideas will provide you with some basic tips and techniques to help make it easier.

So go on, try out the scrapbook journaling ideas above for yourself and add some stress-free journaling to your pages… Once youve finished youll see that its been well worth the effort.
